New Year 7's Build Relationships, Pyramids & Bridges!

Back
3rd Oct 2022

At the end of September 2022, we saw the new year 7 engage in a team building day on the Wood Green School fields.

They have all made an excellent start at Wood Green School, and the day was there to help them build relationships by taking part in a team building activity day delivered by WiseUp.

“The day was incredibly enjoyable; the aim was to get students working together and getting to know others in their tutor group. They had to use problem solving skills, teamwork, communication, and leadership to successfully complete tasks. The process also allowed students to reflect on the skills they had used. It was great to see people laughing, smiling, and having fun with new people.”

Miss Manson, Head of Year 7

With the summer sun still shining they worked together in teams to solve puzzles, cross an electric fence, retrieve and de-activate a bomb (not real!), used skis to traverse a gap, re-build a pyramid one piece at a time and race against time to get the whole team through a (rather small) sling. These activities helped to promote teambuilding, leadership and communication, all skills that fit into our LEARN Well values that underpin all that we do here at Wood Green School.

And the newest students at Wood Green all appeared to appreciate the fresh air and the spirit of the day,

“I liked how we all worked as a team, we won because we all worked together!”
